Teach A Man To Fish T-Shirt Design

Teach A Man To Fish is a small London-based charity dedicated to supporting schools in developing countries to offer a high quality education to the most needy – helping them to help themselves out of poverty.
The brief to design an innovative, original and saleable t-shirt design to become the official Teach A Man To Fish t-shirt. In keeping with their mission.

My logo design is of an individual using a fishing rod to help pull free a person from the jaws of poverty. Inspired by simple shapes, as though cut from paper and placed together by a child being taught at school. I used the colours from the charities website and their logo placed within my design creating a strong and stylish design, that appears instantly recognisable.

Giving and Getting

A RSA Design competition titled Giving and Getting the brief was to choose an existing charity and design a means by which it can increase its fund raising and other resources. Make it easier for people to give, or make it easier for charities to ask – or both.

The design was initialised after realising that charity collection boxes are not very prominent and are unable to communicate information about the charity and their actions, they don’t prompt you to donate because the boxes look so uninteresting, unsecure and unnoticeable.

The incentive of the design to make the collection box stand out, be clear in its form, what it translates, remaining unique and importantly to make people want to give to the charity.

The chosen charity was Save the Children, the reason for this particular charity because children are so important for our existence, they are our future and must be looked after, and they are potential designers. The strong belief ignited motivation to create and make this idea a possible reality.

Pembrokeshire Sports Boats - Final Stage: Interior

For the final stage of the project we were placed into two groups and split into different roles for our designated tasks, my role was an interior designer, as my design for the interior layout was chosen in stage 1 and our client liked the organic feel and curved lines so interior sketches were produced and a scale model of the exterior and interior were created in the group ready for the final presentation of the PSB project.
